Apple Pie Spice 50g
Apple Pie Spice is great for pies, baked apples, applesauce, apple crumble, muffins, poached pears, mulling cider, granola and so much more. We use exceptionally fresh ingredients so you should be using about ¼ to ½ of what your recipe calls for... our aromatic blends are THAT fresh! I make a "fry pan crumble" for an easy and quick dessert (when you forgot to make a dessert). Recipe: Dice up 1-2 apples (medium size) cooking apples like cortland, spy, empire, or even honeycrisp. How to make it: in a warm non stick saute or fry pan, add 2 Tbsp of brown sugar, 1-2 tbsp of butter and cook until sugar and butter are melted together, add 1 pinch of Axe To Grind Applie Pie spice. Then add apples, cook on medium low heat until apples begin to soften, add a pinch of baking soda (this will make the sugar mixture frothy) then add ½ to ¾ cup of quick oats and more butter if needed. Slowly stir until all ingredients are covered with the syrupy sugary, buttery mixture. Cook until apples are soft but still retaining shape. Serve on top of ice cream or on its own. You can make a sugar-free version by using Swerve instead of brown sugar.
