Mace (ground) 50g

Mace grows on the nutmeg fruit and has a lacy appearance that covers the nutmeg.  It is used in both savoury dishes, sauces, pickles, and in baked goods.  Its fragrance is similar to nutmeg.  It is one of the defining spices used in making Hot Dogs!  It is best to add mace toward the end of cooking as it can taste bitter if it is over-cooked.
